The pandemic has seen communities come together to support each other, mutual aid groups have been set up and we have been united in our sense of gratitude and appreciation for the key workers who have kept delivering social impact.

The Craufurd Arms is a pint-sized community owned pub in Maidenhead that is tackling social isolation and becoming a hub for creating long-lasting relationships. Like many other pubs, they’ve been hugely impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

The Bevy sees itself as “more than a pub” re-opening its doors in 2014 to provide a vital range of community services to the people of Moulsecombe and Bevendean.

Coming from Quaker Social Action ’s creaking and “characterful” offices in Tower Hamlets, my director and I were a little out of our comfort zone.
