CHALLENGE

There is a shortage of sports facilities that are inclusive and welcoming to all of the community.

SOLUTION

Social Investment enabled Tumble Gymnastics to refurbish an industrial unit to great a sports facility. Tumble is a facility that provided physical activity and wellbeing for everyone regardless of age and ability in a family fun environment creating a unique experience. Focused on gymnastics, their social mission is to encourage and support young people and adults who are currently physically inactive to increase their activity levels to improve their physical and mental health.

REVENUE

Income is generated from gymnastics classes and onsite coffee shop to help subsidise the free to use gym and other community initiatives.

IMPACT

The centre is designed to be a place where all the family can get involved in a variety of activities. Early intervention approaches, developing foundation physical literacy skills, are vital in creating an active habit for life and the skills and confidence to take part. Gymnastics is uniquely recognised as providing structured development of physical skills at a very early age. An onsite fitness gym is free to use for by the community attending the facility, in particular targeting parents of gymnasts. This is very popular so much so this is being relocating this into a new building in the garden to allow increased usage and to expand the coffee shop. The facility is fully accessible and is partnered with Gym possible which has around twenty disabled users to the centre.

“The investment from Sporting Capital has been invaluable, without the loan we would not have been able to start this project. The loan is flexible and really helped us to have the confidence to move forward with such a big project. It also gave us confidence that our planning and plan was possible and built on solid foundations and assumptions.”

- Craig Heap, Director

“We were delighted to invest into Tumble to enable them to open their facility, and seeing them grow their work, activities and engagement with the local community ever since has been fantastic.”
